Who We Are

Connectivity for Wildlife has conducted numerous wildlife surveys and workshops for different land conservation organizations, such as land trusts, citizen science groups, and college students. CFW researchers have also been teaching wildlife survey and connectivity courses for De Anza College for the past three years.

Tanya Diamond, a wildlife biologist, has developed a company, Connectivity for Wildlife LLC, which monitors wildlife in multiple settings, with particular emphasis on identifying suitable road crossing locations and habitat permeability for wildlife. She was an instructor at De Anza College for the past three years and participated in designing and implementing a Corridor Technician/Stewardship certificate. She was the primary instructor for eight certificate courses, which covered wildlife survey techniques, connectivity case studies, landscape ecology, and Geographical Information Systems tools to develop habitat suitability maps for focal species. She has also organized and led multiple wildlife connectivity workshops for the citizen science group, Wildlife Pathways of New Mexico, along with wildlife survey training workshops and presentations for The Big Sur Land Trust staff, and local high school student ecology clubs. She is also the Principle Investigator for a five year wildlife connectivity study, CA Central Coast Connectivity Project, which is being conducted with the Big Sur Land Trust and Caltrans. Ms. Diamond holds a BS in Biology from UCSC, a MS in Conservation Biology and Ecology from SJSU, and a Track and Sign II Certification from Cybertracker International. Her thesis, Using GIS and Roadkill data to Evaluate Habitat Connectivity for North American badgers, is currently in prep for publication.

Caitlin C. Williams has trained and worked with numerous well known trackers in the United States including Paul Rezendes, Charles Worsham and Sue Morse. She has taught wilderness survival, tracking and nature connection for over ten years and worked professionally as a tracker for private land owners, wildlife researchers and public institutions. Ms. Williams holds a Track and Sign III Certification from Cybertracker International and a B. A. from the University of North Carolina. She currently works as a wildlife tracking instructor for the Regenerative Design Institute and Owlink Media, as well as for Connectivity for Wildlife.
