Workshops
Connectivity for Wildlife offers educational workshops in non-invasive survey methods focused on wildlife tracking and camera trap techniques. Using scientifically robust protocols, participants will learn:
- To determine wildlife absence/presence
- Wildlife directional movement
- Identification of tracks to determine species and, sometimes, the sex
- Identification of scat
- Identification of trails (a series of tracks)
- Identification of other non-invasive wildlife detection methods such as dens, fur, beds, bones, scratches and digs
- The basics of motion activated camera traps such as how to set the camera, placement near trails, identification of photos and downloading data
Workshops will be located in a local habitat known to have a high diversity of wildlife species presence. They will be a full day from 9 am-5 pm. Participants will bring appropriate clothing, water and lunch/snack. Specific details will be provided upon registration.
Classes will be taught by highly trained and experienced professional trackers and educators. All instructors have many years both in classroom and field instruction.
